Hi guys;
My query today is, Is there any relationship between oil presure and proper timing? I have a 67 f-250 with a rebuilt 352, every thing in the rebuid is new, The engine only had 79.000 on it and my brother ran it out of water and cooked it, so I wanted to just fresion it up and maybe get a lil more power, it runs great but I can't get my timing marks to line up and sometimes I have 50# of oil presure at an idle and others I have none until I step on the gas.
can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, zrt
Is your oil presure gage a manual or ele.? If ele. change it to a manual and see what it realy is. Timing marks, check to see if your vacumn line is hooked to a ported line and not manifold vacumn. Then check the timing marks, bring engine up to TDC on #1, pull dist. cap look to see if rotor is pointingto #1 plug wire and then look at the timing marks to see if they are pointing correctly. The balancer my have sliped and the marks my not be lining up anymore.
