electric choke terminals

Please help!, I got a rebuilt carb, list 9834-1, holley 4160, 600 cfm. I can't find any markings on the choke indicating which terminal is the positive (+) and which is the negative (-). On my other holley electric choke carbs, the + and - are clearly marked. I know where to run the wires to, I just don't know which is which. Can I damage anything by hooking them up backwards? Should I just do trial and error? Thanks for your help...

the outside terminal is for the ground and the center one is for the 12v positive. try the holley site for pictures http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...199R7948-5.pdf
wasn't able to find your exact carb but this is the one i run and i believe it is similar.. good luck

That's a good carb. It does have a reverse idle circuit, though. The idle mixture screws work backwards. Out is leaner, in is richer.
The middle one should go to the spring in the cap and is positive as mentioned above.

Sorry about the delay, it took me awhile to get a picture.

The terminals on this electric choke are positioned such that there isn't a "center" terminal and a "outside" terminal. I put a picture of the terminals in my gallery. Any other suggestions?

Can I damage something by hooking the wires up backwards?

If the cap is not marked + or -, then it shouldn't matter.

EDIT: Upon looking at the picture, it doesn't matter which way that you wire it.

To verify, if you have a volt/ohm meter, you can check the ohms on each post to ground, if they read the same, then tou can hook it either way, if one has much less ohms than the other, then hook the ground to the one with the least amount of ohms.
