i recently bought a 1972 f-100 with a good 390 engine and good tires. the fenders have holes and there is some bondo in alot of places.I replaced the rear end for $125 and a trade in. The rear end was off a 71. Do you think this was a good deal and what do you think i should do with it to make it look nice. what color would look good on this truck. And would a flat bed look good on this year truck.
How much did it cost? It all depends on what you paid, how much you are willing to spend to bring the truck up to your liking, and the truck being cost effective for the use that you are going to put it through. A flatbed can look good as long as it is installed properly. I have seen some flatbed installation's where the underbody crossmembers and truck frame sticks out and takes your attention from the body and truck itself. Good luck. Jake.
the truck cost me $200 what color looks good on this year truck with a flat bed. what is a good way to instal it. is there any website i can look onj to get a good plan on instalation.thanks
$200.00! You can't beat that. It's worth it just for the parts.
I have seen some flatbeds that seem to sit high off of the truck frame. This allows for entire chassis to be exposed thus showing a lot of the uglies of the underside. A flatbed properly done will be tight to the highest arch of the frame. The bed should also be mounted so that it follows the pitch of the body line of the cab. Jake.
