Howdy, ive got this 1988 f150 with the inline6 4.9L(I beleive) 5speed manual. Was about to have it dragged out to the wreckers but than I had a wicked thought.
Is it possible to drop the inline6 and 5speed manual into a ford ranger? Someone out there has to of done it. Thoughts? Pictures? Ideas? What would it take to fit that beast into a ranger?
I want to keep the engine alive. It runs a tad rough and the exhaust is alittle beat but it sounds like the world is going to end when ya stomp it.
People shove 302's into Rangers so a 300 might fit. I want to say that someone on the forums has done it. The 300 is longer than a 302 so things are going to have to be moved and the firewall beat or redone. Will it work? Yes if you have the doner truck with all the parts. You'll need someone that can weld as engine mounts are going to have to be made and radiator mounts probably moved.
Well let me go ahead and say it before everyone else does: anything is possible if you have the cash to do it.
I cant really help you out though, thought id just throw that in.
