Well, I finally got one of these bad boys. Now, I will start by saying I am anti-APPLE products. I will NOT have a Mac in my house. But, this iPod Nano is pretty sweet.
I got the biggest one they offered because if you get a smaller one and fill it there is no way to upgrade it. So, I got the 8 GB Black Nano. I like having all my Cd's (and purchased songs from iTunes) available anytime I want.
I need to get it hooked into my car somehow. Are those FM transmitters any good?
iTunes is setup pretty good as well. Impressed with how easy it is to use.
That's all, just bragging.

P.S. Since I have over 70 "Weird Al" Yankovic songs on my iPod do I need help?
yea, i have to get a relative one for a gift. i will probably get another brand since i can't stand the "ipod hype" i mean, this technology has been around for how long? and people (not you) are making now the biggest deal out of it.
70 wierd al songs? no yoou don't need help, just as long as those aren't the only songs you have.
but those mp3 players are nice, nothing better than having all the good songs on one neat little package, beats the sony walkman i was using before.
question - does yours save the play list after you turn it off? or do you have to reselt the songs in the play list each time?
It will save your playlist. You can set the playlist up on the computer or the iPod. If I turn it off it will go back to where I was before when I turn it back on.

P.S. Those 70+ Weird Al songs are about 1/3 of the songs on it....For now....I can't find one of my Weird Al CDs!
I'm surprised you bought the Apple, the only reason I did was that I already had all my music organized in iTunes...
I use an FM transmitter to listen to my iPod in my truck. It works good enough for me. Everything I've read suggests that the transmitters that plug into the cigarette lighter are better than those that don't. (And they charge it, too.) When I first got the 'pod last December, I bought a Kensington transmitter, because it recieved the highest reviews, and was very happy with it, until early September, when it stopped working (no warning, just dead). I bought the Griffin one this time around, and while I prefer it in some ways, it doesn't sound quite as good as the Kensington. (Whatever you buy, shop around online. Retail prices on these things are outrageous.) Also, a buddy of mine has a 3-in-1 type that is also a cradle to hold the iPod. They cost a lot more, and my experience with his is that it's so much trouble I wouldn't buy one if they were the same price.
I'm not a stereo guy by any stretch. I like to listen to music, and I don't like to listen to static. Beyond that, I'm not too fussy. If you really think that a CD sounds NOTICABLY different from FM radio, perhaps they aren't the best choice for you, though, since every audio guy I've ever talked to thinks the transmitters are crap.
EDIT: If your car has a cassette deck, the easiest and cheapest way would be one of those cassette adapters. My father uses one of those in his car to play a Discman over the stereo, and when I drive his car, I just plug it into the iPod.

I'm told that these P.I.E. interfaces are by far the best (and apparently, the most expensive) way to integrate the iPod into a vehicle. I looked into it and unfortunately they aren't compatible with the stock 6-disc changer in my Super Duty.

If and when you get it to work, let me know, which one...thanks
Man, I got a 4 gig ipod a couple of months ago. Ive had nothing but problems with it. I love its size and compacity but damn...I cant seem to get i-tunes to work for one. It wont let me set up my play list correctly. No idea why it wont work. And then ontop of all of that it wont charge. Its not accepting the usb jack.
Blah I have to find the time to call apple and see whats going on.
Mine is working awesome still. Went out today and bought a FM transmitter. I got the Griffin iTrip Auto. I assume it's the same as john112deere's. Works great. I can use any station on the FM "dial". It will also charge my iPod. I have got to figure out a way to mount it somewhere though. I can do a clean install somehow/somewhere.
You can find any number of blank frequencies on the FM dial, but 87.9 is blank almost everywhere you go. Then you don't have to change frequencies on long trips.

Good luck with urs!!
I hope you get it figured out. I think I've probably got the same one you do. Luckily, mine has been pretty good to me.
