I have a 1966 F-250 Camper Special-with standard
brakes---I want to convert to at least front power assist disc brakes because I tow a lot with this truce and I use a 10 foot cabover camper.
Can anyone advise what I can use to make this conversion, such as what spindles will fit on my I_BEAM axles and use what approprate calipers, fotors, and pads and what do I need to attach a booster and which one????????
any and all help is thanked.
Bill, You need to buy a donor truck F250, through 79, and harvest the I-beams, brake lines, booster and master. I might suggest that you use the master for a core on a new reman. Changing the I-beams are far easier than spindles. When you have gotten all that you want (power steering) you can sell the carcus.
There is also a tech article on this here in the Ford Truck Enthusiasts web site. The link is in the home page. Good info on how to do the conversion and what is needed.
