The "primary side" will be the 2 top electrical connections. For the "secondary side" just measure between the spark plug connector, and either of the primary connections.

What I got 5 - 4 ohms off of was the 2 terminal ends inside the connector. I didn't get a reading from one of these ends and the plug fitting.
What ohms range were you using? The reading will be several K (1000's) of ohms on the secondard side.....
I was using my wife/computer engineer/reader-of-the-meter person. Remember I am electrical illiterate. I think the meter (an old analog unit) was set to single units. The coil was off the truck.

That explains why it measured "OPEN". If you put your meter on a higher OHMS range, then you should get a reading....
not getting in on this one... however I have had about three of the several mechanics that I have consulted in, and they said that Bosch plugs seem to disagree with fords...
I personally just replaced motorcraft with autolites

The Valvoline place I took my van to (a former Ford mechanic) told me that only a Ford dealership could diagnose a bad coil. He was going to pull all eight coils and take them to a Ford dealer . . . . .
You said you didn't get a reading when doing a "secondary" measurement. This usually means an "open" circuit.....
I wasn't very clear on that - I didn't get a reading because I didn't "take" a reading. I didn't know to check there for resistance. But I'm still running good so I'm good!

That's great Glenn! I'm glad it's running ok now!!
