Hello everyone, I am new but have been reading for a while now.
Maybe someone has run into this problem so I thought I would ask some Ford Specialist. I just bought a long block for a 1997 f150 4.2L. I put everything back together and everything started and ran fine except the crank was knocking on the spash guard in the oil pan. So I pulled the motor back out thinking i had a worse problem and found out it was the stupid plate. Owell, So I put it all together and the darn thing now has no Fire but turns over fine and is getting fuel. So thats where I'm at now, I have checked my wires and connections time after time and still won't start. Maybe one of you out there can tell me something Thanks, any info is greatly appriaciated. John
Thanks for the help, heres were I'm at now, I had the camshaft positioned 160 off, put it all back together and now it acks like it wants to start but it stalls and after in mid rotation like its still fireing in the wrong position. I made sure all was alighned like it should be before I put it all back together. Very fustrated, not sure what to do next. Any Ideas? Thanks guys
