As I've said in a few different threads I recently purchased a 2005 6.0. After the buy I'd been turned on to this site and started reading all the good and bad. Most notably for me is that the 03-04 6.0's had some problem and were seemingly cleared up real nice for 05-06.
Just for the heck of it after reading all this stuff I decided to check the manuf. date on mine and I see that it was built in July of '04. I'd call that an 04 but Ford calls it an '05. Hows that happen?
Are you checking the chassis build date or the engine build date? It seems like you are concerned about the engine. The engine information is on a sticker on the passenger side valve cover near the firewall.
My '05 vehicle has an '04 engine. Still called a 2005.

I was looking at the build date on the door so I guess it was chassis. Thanks for the info.
