Not another mod question!

Alright, now that I got my LUK clutch and single conversion put in, my "death wobble" taken care of and my CPS replaced I think it's time to start some mods! I want to get the pod and guages and then a chip. I noticed the pillar is cheap but each guage is around $200? I never would have expected them to be that much! Anyone have any suggestions? As for a chip, I don't know where to even start. I know there are alot of them out there. Of course I want more horsepower, and fuel economy(not a priority) but I don't have alot to spend. I'm trying to prioritize my christmas list, either a new shotgun or mods. I love my truck as much as duck hunting. I know ya'll have your own opinions on brands so I'd like to hear them. I'd appreciate the feedback.

I have bought gauges from dieselmanor.com there kit is pretty cheap. I think the kits are about 250

For your chip look no farther than DP tuning or toney wildman, both great tuners for the obs.

mmmmmmm hunting or truck???? why not BOTH!

One more thing to add to your list is a new down pipe for your exhaust (if you havent done it already)

you know I've kept the downpipe in the back of my mind as a mod that NEEDS to be done, do you have any idea how much I can get one for? Is it a fairly easy mod, besides the fit? What size can fit?

Powerlines, I was thinking about "reprograming" the chip but is exspensive. I live next to washington DC...if you are in DC (not the state) I will go in half if you want to. As far as the DP goes look for markdppi, I got a test pipe and 3"dp for 169.33 and that included shipping. The cat removal was the worst....Oxy/Accyt is the key imo. Oh and a bandaid and creative cussing. I mashed the shiznet outta my finger knochen that sucker off.

For what it is worth buy ISSPRO gauges. Most of the guys at the 6.0L shootout were complaining about other brands not reading right on EGT temps. I cannot give an accurate comparison because I use ISSPRO with no problem. Just my 1.5 cents worth. I'm sure others will chime in on the subject and experiences.

So give me a priority, down pipe, guages, then chip? Also on the down pipe does that always involve removing the cat?

I went with Auto Meter for gauges. A little more Pricey but they look awsome.

I'd group your mods unless you have a pocket full of $$ to spend all at once. I'd go intake, downpipe and exhaust, then chip or programmer and gauges. Doesn't make any sense to chip it but not address the factory air flow problems and I wouldn't mess with the HP without some gauges to keep an eye on it.
The cat problem is yours to decide...mandated by law in some states but not others. Gut it if your not sure so the body is there for a visual inspection if needed or roll the dice and cut it out.

To me, knowing when I have to back out of it was first priority. That meant gauges first. After that, you can either add the chip and discover the glaring deficiency in your stock intake and exhaust, or add the intake and exhaust first knowing they will be mandatory once the chip is in place.

Take a look at RPM outlet in any of your diesel magazines. They have the A pillar, 2 Autometer gaugers pyro and boost for $190! It is true thats where I got mine. The pillar needs paint and if you order do it over the phone their computer ordering sucks. Waited two weeks just to find out my order never went through so had to wait anther week. Overall good price and ok service.
