Anyone ever put an a/c system into a non ac truck. How hard is it to do and is it worth? Does anybody make a kit for something like this?

I put a/c in my 81 Bronco. It was non a/c origionally. It wasn't hard, just time consuming but i had acess to a parts donor truck. In my situation, because the evaporator came out from the engine side of the firewall, I never even unhooked a hose. I just unbolted the whole system and with the help from a couple of buddies, we picked it up and laid it into my truck.

In my '87 F250 with 300 engine, it was very easy to put in an air conditioner. There are no components on it that cannot be reached from the engine compartment, so there is none of the killer work under the dash like you would get in a car. I got the parts needed from prowling junkyards for them. Make sure everything is cleaned up/blown out well. An advantage of the computer controlled vehicles is that all the wiring for AC is on the vehicle already, just not being used. Once the wires are found and hooked up, the computer takes over the control of the idle. If you have an '87 or later vehicle (could be a few years earlier, but I doubt it), you will also find a plug under the dash for attaching to the dash controls for the AC.

Good luck.
