Ford Bronco E40D transmission from hell
Hello FORD LOVERS, a couple questions, my transmission is all messed up first reverse stopped working, then drive started slipping at 30m/hr, high revs and no catch, then all the gears would not work after about a month, i dropped the transmission pulled er apart full of dirty dark tranny fluid, and metal shavings all over the magnet and in the pan, however the majority of the gearing looks alright except for some teeth, also one snap ring was off, i am curious if all the symptoms link to something else, clogged filter? VSS? some sensor? torque converter? i have no idea, i was hopping i would find severe damage in the tranny that i could fix, the torque converter is still attached to engine i can not spin it. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, this is my first tranny rebuild and it just ain't pretty. Please share the Knowledge so i can get back on the hills and rip it up.
