no, it can just freely vent down to the ground. most of the OTR trucks have open CCV systems, pointing at the ground. when i first did mine, i had the hose tied to the framerail out of the way, and once i got back to the fuel tank, i ran it between the tank and the tank strap, and pulled down on it to secure it. then once i got past the rear tank strap, i directed it down on the ground. i hated how the cloud would come out from under my truck sitting there idling, even in traffic, i would get some funny looks. so i decided to route it into my exhaust. and once i got stacks, i routed it into the turn-up elbow, so the mist comes out evenly of both stacks.
