You can use it for either one.

With sales at Ford being what they are, you may be able to get a better deal by just negotiating. I bought my Lariat in 2004 and got a great deal but I would think you could do just as well right now without it.

I live in Pensacola, FL and the dealer had a $4500 incentive + $1000 if you bought before 11/30/2006..
I found this out on the Ford website before I went to the dealer.

I thought the X-plan price was some percent over A-plan? I've purchased on both, and the A-plan is obviously better if you can get it. Honestly, I got a better deal just negotiating on my current truck ('05 Screw) than I would've gotten using the X-plan.

The A-Plan on my truck was about $1k less then the X-Plan.
I tried to negotiate but I did better with the X-Plan..
I guess I'm just not good at negotiating.

All in all I'm very happy with my deal and the dealership was great..

X-plan is nothing more than a buying program that ford came up with and offers to Companies and groups. I have bought 5 cars and trucks using the Xplan and it has all ways saved me some decent money any where from 1500-4500.

As it was explained to me X-plan is 3-3.5% above A-plan price

You just need the PIN #.

Xplan is supposed to be about 1% more than what an employee pays ( Aplan).
Under Xplan there is no bargaining, just the Xplan price, you will not get the dealer $500 charge, you get all factory rebate and incentives on top and all you need to negotiate is trade.

Do the dealers that you purchase from using the X-plan have some sort of verification that you are eligble for the X-plan? Or are you just able to recieve an Xplan pin number and use that no questions asked?

Hopefully this helps someone:
As Defined by Ford:
The X-Plan is Invoice minus 0.4% of Invoice + $75 Administration Fee.

So:
Invoice -
(invoice x 0.4%) +
$75

X-Plan price

You give the dealer your x-plan pin, and they show you the invoice ticket with the x-plan pricing.

You should also be able to use your pin on the internet while looking at the dealers inventory.

Well I was asking because I do not know anyone "personaly" that would be able to give me an x-plan pin number. But I have seen several threads in the New Buyers forum that were given pins. Would those potential buyers recieve grief from the dealerships.
