Which Transmission Fluid?
Hey guys,
Searched this forum and on the internet and couldn't find a specific answer to this question. Exactly what type of transmission fluid do I put in my truck? It is a 1983 with a 3-speed automatic behind a 300 I6 (I think the transmission is a C4 then?). Newer transmissions tend to use Dextron III/Mercon fluid, but since this is a much older design I wasn't sure if it required a different fluid type (Dextron II for example). Any thoughts?
