Mpg ?

Just bought my 250, 7.3, 4x4, cc, auto. with 130,000 miles on it about 4 weeks ago. Havent had any trouble with it so far but when I picked it up the Mpg were at 16.9 and now after 4 weeks it is at 13.4. The dude I bought it from lived in the city like I do and he said that some of that Mpg was hwy. I thought It would at least stay some what the same by how much l baby it. The first week I had it i changed the oil, air filter, and the fuel filter. Any reason for this big of change or is there anything Im over looking?

I make the obvious assumption that you are determining mileage from the " lie-o-meter" . These things are very inacurate, you are much better off calculating by hand...IE miles travled/gallons used.

as for why your mileage may seam to be decreasing, is there a possability the previous owner removed some modificatons before you bought it? Such as a tuner? These trucks also learn driving style...if the previous owner didnt baby it and you do it may take a while for the truck to learn you and being that you live in the city you probibly dont get many miles under your belt so it may take a while. last but not least how much idle time do you rack up? He may have worked a different shift and been able to avoid traffic snarles that leave you idleing along at 5mph for extended periods which will really burn off some fuel compared to miles travled.

just some thoughts

I get about 14-16 towing.

And about 17-22 depending on how I drive and if it's city or hwy. Stock truck . on a few tanks of diesel I tried driving the whole time about 5-10 kph under the speed limit and mpg was around 23-25. But it was just to slow for me to drive like that.

That 16.9 MPG was from the PO? Apples to oranges.
PO driving style vs yours?
PO city driving is less than what you're driving now?
PO was running fuel additives, are you?

The fuel we are getting today (ULSD) vs b4 June 1st (LSD) can make about 1-2 MPG difference.
