NEW TIRES AND NOW PROBLEMS>>>
I just Bought new tires to-day finally Bridgestone revo 285/75/16 for my 2001 sd diesel all was good untill I got home it looks as though I've blown the top off my power steering pump and soaked the engine with power steering fluid, and my newly install baldwin air filter pa2818 has this happened to anyone else? also how difficult is it to change the pump any special bleeding instructions? and or will this happen agian with the new pump? thank-you guys for the info and I'll talk soon...

I had the same thing happen to me when I first bought my truck. In my effort to make sure everything was in tip top shape, I changed all my fluids and topped off the power steering pump. The first time I turned the wheel, it puked out a bunch of fluid. I thought I would have to replace the pump. I refilled the pump again but carefully checked the level as I filled so not to over fill and I have put 45,000 miles on it since and never needed to add again. May not be your issue, but overfill makes these pumps very unhappy. I can assure you that the tires had no bearing on the fluid puke. If you didn't add any fluid, then I would be looking at the filter to see if there is something going on there. There should never be any pressure in the pump tank to blow off the top.

If the wheels get turned while off the ground and the engine is not running it will force fluid out. Normally just out of that little hole in the dipstick/cap.
