Does anyone know if the door lock/window switches on a 98 B4000 are the same as on a Ranger?
Door lock switch on the driver's door works 50% of the time, works all the time on the passenger door.
Window switch is inop on passenger window but works from the driver's side. Used to roll up but not down, no completely inop.
Cleaning with electrical parts cleaner had no effect.
I am asking about the Ranger connection because I have contacts at the Ford dealer and it is easier and quicker to get to than the Mazda dealer. Plus the Ford parts dept is open for a half day on Saturday.
When I bought switches for my 89 Mustang, they were about $15 a piece. Around the same for these?
I haven't had a fitment problem yet buying Ford/Motorcraft parts for my 98 Mazda, even when I look them up for the equivalent 98 Ranger 4.0L. Most times when I've bought from the Mazda dealer, the part comes back in a Motorcraft bag with a Mazda part number sticker on top of the Ford sticker. There are a few differences in styling, but none that I've seen in electrical/mechanical parts.

Thanks again. I was just checking....
I guess I could pull the switches to see if they do have a part # on them.
2-3 years ago I ordered tie-rod ends from the Mazda dealer and they came in a Ford box. I believe both were $75 total and took 2-3 days to come in. I called my buddy at the Ford dealer and he said they had them in stock and could have saved me some coins. Live an learn I suppose...
