The only way to test a transmission out of a car is with a transmission dyno. That's a very complex and expensive piece of equipment. Most big remanufacturers use a trans dyno to test their units before they ship them.
practical is for sissies. just rig it together and blame the neighbors if it goes south. I don't know what extra parts you have lying around but you can figure out how if anyone can. Also, if you can get the torque converter back on, turn it and shift it by hand. That might give you a better idea. Have you checked the pan to see whats in there? My last thought is to lift up the front end of the Bronco, rig up some adapter from one of the hubs to the input shaft and engauge the 4wd. Weeeeeee! Wear body armor.
Hate to jump on this thread, but, question: With a newly rebuilt C6 should the output shaft be able to be turned by hand after it's all put together? or do I need the TC in it to give me more leverage?
