Door jamb light switch socket repair

I finally decided to replace my door switch for the interior light but when I tried to pull the old switch from the socket the metal ends were so corroded that they broke off in the old switch. As luck would have it I had just replaced the turn signal switch and the plug in ends are exactly the same as the door switch plug ends.I pulled the wires in thru the axcess hole and out where the glove box was(I am replacing a leaking heater core ) and cut the wires back to some not so brittle insulator and soldered and shrunk tubed them together to the wires I cut off the old turn signal switch. After wrapping the wires back with electrical tape I pushed the pin ends into the switch socket and fished the wire back out, careful to route it away from the hinge. Before you plug the parts together slide the door bracket on first then put some dialectric grease on the connector and finish the install.Works like new and only took about a half an hour.
