Hi, I'm looking for a vacuum hose diagram for a 350 eng in an early 80's Chevy Malibu. There are about five hoses hooked up right now and I think there should be more than that running to wherever they go. Thank you.
I didn't have the patience for the Autozone site and I'm not gonna sign up for it as I don't buy parts online......yet.
I figure I'll wander down to the local Pick-A-Part and see if I can get a pic of an intact motor that is close enough for the hose routing, as well as a pic of the emissions label, might work?
I sort of collect auto manuals too, so I can look in the Monte Carlo book I have if I need other info about the engine and timing and firing order etc...a 350 is a 350, eh?
Dont blame GM. The worst vacuum hose nightmare I ever saw was a 1974 Ford 302 with California emissions. It was in my Econoline van, so servicing that mess was even more difficult. It failed smog checks constantly because of this vacuum gizmo or that broke.
The car is gone now, I left it too long at the guy's house and he sent it to the crusher. I got it "free" with no paperwork but it sat at his house because he would have to make a claim on it with ICBC(Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, handles 98% of car insurance and 100% of licensing and fees paperwork) cause the P.O. had moved to Alberta and did not leave paperwork and then he could transfer it into my name.
Always get a car with papers and get it off the property the day you buy it! (or get it free)
