I am just wondering what a 351 cleveland is worth? Its a long block that has dropped a valve. The engine is complete but obviously not running. Is $100 canadian a good deal for this?
Yeah thats what I figure, I know I have a lot of work to do on it but I am not in need of it any time soon so I think I will just take my time and build it. Thanks for the help, any other input?
Sorry about the late post. Is the Cleveland a 2V or a 4V? The 2V block is worth the 100 bucks CN if only to have for the rebuild. The 4V, on the other hand, has 4 bolt mains, larger ports and if you're lucky enough to have a CJ-possibly hardened seats.
I've had a bunch of 2V's over the years. They've always been a good dependable motor. I had one 4V CJ I aquired from a guy for swapping it out with a 2V. Seems the old 4V had too much power for him. Sat in my garage couple years and finally traded it for some chimney work on the house. The Mason advertized it for $500.00 and had 8 calls the first morning. Who knows what the thing was worth.
BTW...A 2V can be drilled out for 4 bolt mains.
