the rear end in my truck has been replaced at some point in time . the dash tag says 3.94 ratio and the rear end tag says 4.27 i really didn't pay too much attention to it until i started to mock up the bed with the fenders on . and the passenger side wheel is sticking out past the rear of the fender while the drivers side is inside of the fender itself . does anyone have measurements from rear of the back plate to the frame . i am showing about 1/4 in difference but i think the rear end shows the tire out further than that . the frame looks good so i don't think it's bent . that i looked over real good while i sand blasted it . and all the bed crossmember bolts line up and the bed is square . any thoughts or measurements ? thanks guys!
thanks guys , i will get back in touch , son has a soccer game so tonight is not going to be good to do a whole heck of alot . as for the tires and rims the tires are the same size but the rims are off two different trucks . the rear is a dana 44 but the yr is uncertain . yeah , i didn't think of the spring perches . i just measured from the backing plate to the frame using a straight edge from the frame to the floor . then i took the measurements from the straight edge to the backing plate .
i think i got it , i finally got a chance to get out to the shop and spend a few minutes looking things over and the wheels have two different back spacings . the rear is also over about 1/4 '' so the first thing i am going to do is get wheels that have the same spacing and tires that match and take it from there . thanks guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
