Broke where it hooks down at the transfer case.
Lever runs to this piece then this piece hooks to the Transfer case.
Does anyone make one of these that is a little heavier duty.
Seemed to break awful easy.
Of course it could have been stressed before I got it.
If not is Ford my only option?
It is on a 97 F350 with 460 and E4OD.
You're talking about that aluminum piece at the bottom of the shifter that is bolted onto the transmission? I broke mine trying to get the rod off that goes to the transfer case. I had it TIG welded locally for $20. The guy did a great job and I don't think it will break there again. I also put grease zerks in it to lube it so it doesn't seize up again.
Just take it all apart to the bare housing before you have it welded. There are plastic parts inside the housing that will melt if you don't. It's not that hard to do.
