my first bike was a 200cc francis barnet for me and a 200cc james for my wife. both were dirt bikes 1954 models. they were great starter bikes for us. of course, we progressed rapidly from there. great fun!

A 17 year old kid in my office's shipping department just got a Yamaha R1 as his first bike.. We're pressuring him REALLY hard to sell it for a 600 or even 250. I personally don't think I could ever ride a bike, they scare the c*** out of me.
