AOD Issues...
The low shift points are fairly self-explanatory. It simply seems to shift too soon, and will shift into OD (4th) at a speed as low as 35mph. These low shift points are certainly contributing to another issue with this truck, which is pinging under even the lightest load...but that's another post...lol
The downshifting problem really seems to depend on the speed and load at the time. If I'm in a situation where I'm going up a bit of a grade at a fairly low speed, the trans doesn't downshift, so I give it more throttle to "force" a downshift, but many times it still won't. (Yep, she really pings then!)
As for the decelerating issue...when I come off the throttle the truck really decelerates almost like brakes are being partially applied, then suddenly something "releases" and the truck seems to "free up" (if that makes any sense..) I'm wondering if the lockup converter is hanging up and not releasing properly.
I've tried many times to adjust the TV cable as per instructions in my service book, and I've also tried tinkering a bit with the adjustment (just a smidge this way, then that way), and it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference.
Any thoughts??
