I would like to buy the special Ford tool that takes the slotted nut off of the windshield wiper shaft on the cowl (outside). Please advise me if anyone knows where to get this tool. With all the expert Ford guys on this forum, I know someone is bound to know where to locate this item. I haven't seen you guys stumped yet.
Thanks in advance.

Skip are you sure that you don't take it loose on the inside and pull it outward?? I have removed them and can't remember just now how I did it. I can tell you I don't own any special tools for doing it.

John. The bezel and nut are on the outside of the cowl just under the windshield. The nut is round and has two slots in it. Ford (and one of the other tool makers like Snap-On) made the special tool to remove this piece. Without the special tool, you have to use a couple of large screwdrivers and end up boogering up the nut.
Does this help?

I made 1 from a piece of 3/4 inch pipe. Cut end down to leave 2 prongs with a dremel tool. Drill 1/4 inch hole through other end for phillips screwdriver used as a handle.
