Question 2005 Ford Radio

Hi,
My rear driver side speaker is not working properly. It has a lot of static in it and I can't figure out whats wrong. Has anybody had this problem?? I don't know what to do or replace. Just wondering. Comments on anything related welcome.

Could be a Blown speaker or maybe just a loose connection. Cant really say without actually hearing the speaker noise itself.

You could try trading it with the front speaker to see if it is the speaker or the radio. I also would replace the speakers with better aftermarket ones if it is bad. Some times this is a bad connection at the speaker too, you may want to clean the connection.

Thanks. but the rest of them sound great. I will look at the connections. It could be blown, but my experiance is that not just one blows. I think both back speakers would have blown??? I don't know. Thanks

Yo - had this problem. Turned out the connecter that's welded to the speaker (that the wire attaches to) was bent slightly, and each time I rolled down the window it mashed it down further until it finally pushed the wire *almost* off of the connector. That will give a weak contact and result in a crackling sound. It could be intermittent, too. But not always.

I'm very timid about messing with my door panels. I feel I don't have the right tools and may f*&k something up. SO ... I took mine to Circuit City and they corrected the problem for free. Of course, while I was there I upgraded all of the stock speakers to Polk Audios. Cost me around $240 installed. I'm an ex-professional music producer and nothing bothers me more than anomolies in speaker performance, so it was worth every single dollar. I don't think it would have been free if I hadn't purchased the upgrades.

Hope this helps.
