error code p1131
hello i just got tabs for a truck i got 6 months ago the guy that sold me the truck signed all his stuff off and i went to switch into my name and found out he still owed the bank less then a thousand and it has taken me this long to get him to pay off the bank so i got him to get tabs so i can drive tell i can put it in my name. i drove it and it brought up code p1131 ho251 lack of switches lean bank 1 sencer 1 and ideas thanks kelly also when im under a load or stand on it it pings

There are a few reasons that you could be getting this code.
A dirty MAF
A partially clogged fuel filter
A weak fuel pump
A bad O2 sensor. (The code is for the passenger side closest to the engine)
A vacuum leak.
I would clean the MAF (Instructions in the FAQ thread at the top of this forum) and change the fuel filter first.
The code is probably either from a vacuum leak (Check the PCV hose elbows) or a dirty MAF.
The pinging could be from a clogged fuel filter, dirty MAF or insufficient fuel pressure if it only does it when the throttle is wide open.

it also pings when got a load on and it is haveing to work harder . also every once in a while smell gas but cant find the leak next i will have to use the leak die kit to find the leak . i just put in the motor 6 months ago but havent driven it much as i explaned i was beging to thank it was a lawn ortament. thanks i will look in to those things . kelly
