2 bolt main

I was wondering if it is possible to convert a 2 bolt main engine block to a 4 bolt ?

Possible? Probably. Practical? No.

Depending on your application, I'd say you'd be ahead (in a Ford block anyway...) to just get the ARP bolts and call it good.

It depends. There are companies that make 4 bolt main caps that you can drill and tap for your formally 2 bolt main cap engine block, but only for the popular engines. Take the money that your machinist will charge you and apply it to an aftermarket block and you might be ahead in the long run. That is if you honestly need a 4 bolt block.

I have two set of main caps that fit 351w and 400. Would take machine work- you can get them for cheap sometimes on ebay- also can get them parallel or splayed.

not sure why i biught them except they were cheap- trade material someday or if i decide to build the 400 stroker beast.
