I used POR-15 engine paint. It's the best I have tried, it is tough as nails. I painted my engine over seven years ago and I really don't take care of it but the paint, with a quick wash, looks as good as the day I applied it.

POR is the toughest I have ever seen. They also make a exhaust manifold grey paint that is second to none.
I use their products on a lot of jobs and have never had a problem.
I sound like IM selling their stuff but its real good.
