The old shock mounts will not work, the diameter of the axel housing is
larger than the old axel housing. Ford had a larger/similar shock mount bracket on their late 50's F-100, you might check junk yards.
You might check your axel housing, sometimes Ford had small shock mount tabs welded right on the outside of the tube. If they are not there, they can be added.
I used the lower shock mount off of a Ford explorer and the upper mounts off of an 88 F150.You could also use the U bolts off the Explorer if their in good shape.I just got new ones at the local Napa.My rear end did have the lower mounts welded to the housing but I found them to high when I put the axle on top of the springs. If your leaving your axle under the springs then everything just bolts right in.
