I know this has been beaten to death, but I can't seem to find the exact answer searching thru past threads. I'm looking to gain a little lift/carrying capacity in the front end of my 04 F350. I've read about X code springs or snow plow package springs. Are these any taller than a standard front leaf spring?
I thought someone on here posted something about gaining an inch or so by switching to these springs. Does anyone have the part number for them or what I can expect to pay for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i can help a little, the springs are rated for 6000 lbs instead of either the 5200, 4800 of your stock springs. they raised my truck about 1-1.5", it was hard to tell but it did raise it a little. the biggest benefit was the front of my truck not dropping as much when i have my plow on.
as for price i had a friend at the lcal ford dealer get them for me so it was considerably cheaper.
metalman, since you have an f350, i would see what springs came on yours. i put the v code on my excursion and it lifted it about 1 1/5". but the ride is so much better. you have to decide what you want, lift or carrying capacity. lift=how much, go with the mini leaf pack. cheaper too. i got my springs from my dealer at XX% above cost because i work at a different dealer. they were $128 each....my cost.....
Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a little extra carrying capacity for a portable winch plus the extra lift in addition to a mini-leaf pack. I think the extra lift from the heavier springs plus the mini-leaf pack will almost level my truck. There is a 3.75" difference front to back measured from a level concrete garage floor to the highest point of the fender. But anyway, thanks for the info. Is there a tag or something on my springs that will let me know what I currently have?? I should probably start there. Thanks for the info fella's.
