A Heads Up

Hey Now,

Just wanted to pass a word of caution along to Explorer owners....

I own a 2000 Explorer with 67,000 miles on it...

This morning the Driver's seat-back broke....I do all of my own repairs, so I went to the Ford Dealer in Town to check out the parts to repair it....

They told me to check at the Service Dept. because there is a recall on seat-back bolts....They checked my VIN and mine was not included in the recall!!!!

I got the recall repair kit and fixed it myself this morning....

So beware, your Explorer seat-back bolts could break!!!!

I was giving a little warning....the recline on the seat-back was "acting Funny" for a Day or two....

I would suggest that you have the seat-back bolts replaced, I'd would have hate to see what would have happened if it gave way while on the Highway or when my Wife was Driving it!!!!

I emailed the NHTSA and Ford about this...will be interesting to see what if any response I get from them....

I've done about a hundred of these... not a big deal to do I got so good at it it took about 5 minutes. Just make sure you have the proper TORX sockets.

If it was under recall, why'd you do it yourself?

Ya, no big problem to fix...the hardest part was getting the seat-back cover up high enough to get to the bolt...
