F150 rabs problem??

I have a 99 2wd F150 and the rear brakes are sticking at slow speeds. The shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, etc. are fine. The abs light comes on at startup and then goes out as normal. I have checked the wiring and did not see any obvious problems. When I slam on the brakes, the rear brakes "shudder" so the rabs seems to be working. It is just that they are very touchy at slow speeds, like coming to a stop sign. I think I have it narrowed down to a bad distribution block (or whatever they call it now) or a bad rabs module. Any idea which one it might be? I hate to buy both because they cost mucho moolah. I could install an adjustable proportioning valve as I have seen suggested on other posts, but I hate to abandon the factory setup. However, I will do that if it is the best solution. Thanks for the help!!!

Install better brake shoes and champfer the edges to a 45 degree angle to reduce the grabiness.

Sounds like your RABS system is working fine.

Your problem is most likely most severe in cool, damp conditions after the truck has been parked awhile. Driving in reverse for a few dozen yards with the e-brake lightly applied will likely help the condition for the current drive cycle.

Thanks for the suggestion. They're Walker brake pads so I thought they were pretty good. It was doing it with my old brake pads too. Can I simply chamfer the edges with a file with the shoes on the vehicle? I'll give it a try.

I'll try this again. I chamfered the edges and did all that was recommended above but still the same problem. I am convinced it is not in the rear brake mechanism as I have swapped out shoes, turned the drums, etc. to no avail. Any other ideas? Thanks!!!
