6637 questions

Hi guys, just installed the Kwik 6637 mod, removed some of the air-box and drilled a 3/4" hole in the blank end for the filter minder, attached the filter direct to the intake tube, just remove the entire tube and a little WD-40 and the filter slips right in, quick clamping and poof we are done!

Had a question about the "other sensor" I found attached to the stock box? What does it do? What should I do with it? I just left it sitting on some of the wiring harness near-by is it ok? I was also wondering about the filter it-self, will it be a problem getting wet from spray from underneath? I will get a "Pop" pre-filter on it soon but was a bit concerned about the water/snow question.

Thanks for "listening"....

Dave

Are you talking about the "restriction reset" on the front of the box?

looks sort of like a fuel bulb

That is the intake air temp sensor some people tye wrap it to the filter neck. Keep it as close to the filter as posible and as far away from engine heat as possible

It is an air temperature sensor.
just zip tie that sensor to the master cylinder lines, it will end up close to your filter but not touching it.

it wont get wet from spray from underneath. I have had mine installed for 4 or 5 months now and have driven in a couple good rain storms and its still good and dry.

i installed the kwik 6637 filter a few weeks ago, faily simple but no matter which way i try to put the filter in it seems to touch the master cylinder and i get a vibration from the air filter transferring to the master cylinder and feel it in the petal while braking. any solutions..... but i love the sound!

Ive had mine on for over 100k, no issues here, especially if it sits right behind the battery and is sheltered from the bottom by the inner fender well.

When I still had my 6637, I extended the wires for the intake temperature sensor and installed it in the end of the filter.

I might look for it up here some time, no idea how much or anything but, seems like a good unit and might be a good safe addition.
