broken wheel studs
I have an 02 Super Crew with a 6" Fabtech lift on it. In the past 2 weeks I have had 7 wheel studs on the front end break off. The last 2 broke while I was hand tightening the new lug nuts on. I have 35x12.50x18 BFG Muds on American Racing 18x9 Wheels. Is this a normal problem with lifted Fords or do I have a serious problem that needs to be corrected.

How tight are you torquing the nuts? I've broken them off before on my truck. After that I used a torque wrench to see that I was tightening WAY too much. 100 lbs. is all they need. I know others run big tire/wheel combos, so I'm not sure that's the problem. Nor do I think this has anything to do with being lifted. Try a torque wrench to get a "feel" of what 100 lbs of torque feels like. If it's not that, then I would go to the wheels and see if they could be causing it. I don't know if those trucks have hub-centric wheels or not, but if they do, your AR wheels need to be the same way. Good luck solving your troubles!! Rob
