I need to get new tires, I have no idea what my options are. How will my tires change the ride of the truck? What should I not get with tires? I use this truck as my weekend work truck and during the week it is my 'daily driver' to and from work.
As for the suspension, it seems to be origninal, if not, the springs and shocks are OLD OEM replacements and are in need of replacing. I am pretty sure I will be lifting the truck inthe future, maybe a 3 or 4 inch lift, nothing too big.
Can anyone give me informatoin so I can make an educated decision? I'd just be guessing at this point.
Got my truck about a year ago, 90 f150 4x4 170,000. Drove terrible. Wandered all over the road and not safe above 55mph. Ride was rough and uncomfortable. Tighten up the preload on the steering box, aligned it, and got slightly better. It had a slightly used set of BFG 31x10.5 At tires on at that time. Bought a set of wheels that came with a very well used set of Michelin LT MS tires in the stock size.. The steering problems disapeared. Then put on a set of Monroe sensatrac shocks. The ride is very good. Now has a 180,000 on it and I'm happy. It now drives like it should. Next set on mine will be Michelins. Tire Rack has a lot of reviews.
Good luck Frank
