code scanner

I want to get a code scanner but i dont wanna go crazy on prices i was looking around and i found the OBD I by actron im wondering if anyone owns this or ahs used it and if its worth the money

your local auto parts store can loan one out to you for free as long as you return it.

Wasn't it around 1995 that the code readers changed? Something like 1995 and below was one reader and 1996 and above was another. That's one reason why I haven't got one yet as I don't know which to buy. I'd gladly spring $30 for a reader to use at home. The question is (for me) What reader do you get for a 1995 F150 4X4 5.0 ?
