hello
i'm trying to install the guage cluster out of a Lariart pick up into my 1999 Ford F150 pick up.. the guage cluster is out of a 1999 truck because it ahs a tach and my truck does not, , i installed the guages and the truck will not start it will crank but will not start, i installed the orginial cluster and it starts, when i got the truck running i disconnected the old guages and plugged the new cluster in and the truck guages all work including tach, but when i turned the truck off and tried to start it, its turns over but will not start, i disconnected the security box from the truck and it still does not start. i really would like to get the guages cluster to work in my truck because of the tach.
Thanks for the help.

You will need to take it to the dealer and get them to re-program the new cluster. The cluster and the engine computer talk to each other on a communication network in the truck, and the different one you have is not communicating with your engine computer.
I don't think so. Talk to the dealer to make sure, but I think each cluster is unique. This helps with theft problems and also helps the dealer's pocket books
i tried calling my used auto parts junk yard and he told me there are about quiet a few different computers for 1999 trucks, so i'll let you know how it goes with the dealer ship. thanks for the imput
