I just got to wondering how y'all had fixed your rusted out floorpans? Every vehicle I've owned has had problems with the floorpans rusting out, and each one had it's own unique temporary fix; The mustang II had cardboard, the Monarch has an old, new-to-me body, and my truck has sheet metal just resting over the hole on the pass. side, but nothing on the drivers side. The front cab mounts are completely gone, although the pass. side has a custom homemade type thingy in there, but they didn't raise the front of the cab before they put it under there.
So what's the popular opinion with this one? New/repro floorpans/cab mounts, metal patch/homemade cab mounts, or is there something else out there?

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
On my 66 Mustang I put a piece of aluminum flashing underneath the carpet on the passenger's side to cover the whole that was there. I just left it, and figured I would get to replace it when I did my resto. Not so, I sold it back in December! So, now I have a new toy to play with. My 1965 F-100, I can't wait to get that truck out and start showing it. I have missed going to car shows. That's what kept me out of trouble. Of course it also kept me outside and active too!
my 64 had the same problem. my dad works at a body shop and he got some sheet metal for me. you also can pick up some sheet metal at automotive paint stores, at least at the one where i get my paint. I just cut all the rot out and welded the new pieces in. the metal i got was new and galvanized wich means extra rust protection. the cab mount story is very similar to the one on my 64. almost every place that sells ford repro parts sells the supports and mount kits.
If you are gonna do your own welding on galvanized metal, be forewarned that the fumes that is put off from the galvanize are pretty toxic :-(...so use a lot of ventilation or a good mask.
