05 Explorer Cutting Out
I hit the coast button for the cruise control the other day and the vehicle completely lost power. I'm talking DEAD...no radio, flashers, lights, engine...nothing. After I rolled to a stop and let everything settle down, it started up and ran fine. Any idea what this might be? Its at the dealer now, but I've all ready gotten the "no code, nothing wrong" story.

I almost remember reading that there was a computer glitch that causes this problem (everything is computer controlled now). About what speed were you going because I believe this only happened at lower speeds. I've never run into it on my 04. Try doing a search on this site for this problem. There should be an updated software version for your X's computer. Good luck

Thanks, Matt. I should clarify...its an '04 (I got it mixed up with my truck, which is an '05). Any idea as to what the name (version number, etc.) of this s/w upgrade might be? In the meantime, I'll continue to search the forum.
