I have a 96 F250 diesel with 3.55 gears. I had to have the rear replaced and got one from the junk yard. Turns out the rear end I got is a 4.10, and my cruise control is not working. Could this just be a coincidence, or does have something to do with the truck having a lower gear ratio than it came with?
is fuse ok for cruise? did it work right before you changed rear end? do you have old rear end to remove that vss? did you do anything else inside engine compartment that may have caused this?
The fuse is good. Changed it anyway. The VSS came out of the old rear end (3.55) and is in this new one (4.10). Nothing else was done in the engine compartment. Cruise was working before the new rear end was installed.
