yesterday I pulled the entire front end out from under a 1973 f100 including the power steering gear box. the donor was a frame only, no truck on it.
now gona go find all the info I can about the disk conversions and ps conversions.....
well lol i will find it soon. not tonight...lol im too tired right now.
I recently did that same upgrade you will not regret it. Don't even bother to pull the brakes the king pins are just too much work just pull your front end out completely and put in the 73' don't forget to change the bushings and do the field alignment. I found it easier to do the drivers side first. The proportioning valve mounts quite nicely on the front crossmember at a 45 deree angle just right of the pitman arm, there is not a lot of room there but if you look at your old lines they all route very close to there. threading the rear lines can be frustrating as you are doing it blind from below but it does fit.
One of the guys on this site had a step by step that i could not have done without.
Good luck
Rick FYI, Progress announcements would be better placed in your state chapter forum rather than in the main tech. Using a title choice like you did for your thread will never be picked up with the search engine. No one else will benefit from it.
thanks
John

All right Rick..The disc brakes are the best thing I have ever done to my 65. Much more confidence in it's stopping ability. Some jerk changed lanes on me last week and it was nice stopping without even thinking about it..
6T and JD, im looking forward to it. I do need to get those bushings and what not, as well as a prop valve. that truck frame didnt have one of those. as far as the lines, I will grab some new ones and bend them if I have to. the donor is 3 hours away from me, and honestly I didnt think of lines..lol. i was running off of 2 hours of sleep. wish I had known how heavy those things were..lol one of them fell on my shoe and knocked a hole in it, luckily I curled my toes up.
