Today I came across a 62' Camper Special. It has many good body parts fenders, bumper, grill, doors, hood, interior and so on. Are these parts inter changeable with my 65' 250.
I'm not sure about F-250's but the bumpers on the F100's changed in 64. The 61-63 style had three mounting bolts through the front of the bumper and the 64-66 had one in the front and one on top. You might be able to change the brackets and make it work.
The doors on the 61-64 are a little different from the 65,66 doors, too. The difference is very slight (indentations on the inside near the window crank) and probably wouldn't be noticed unless you are wanting to be completely original. It might make a difference if you used only one door, but if you use both I doubt anyone would notice. If you use the door trim panels it will cover it up anyway.

The inner fenders are different, as well as the bumpers. The frame/front end is different, along with alot else. Other than glass and bits, pieces, and some minor body parts, alot will be different from your 66.
Looks like the front bumper will match up as well as the fenders. I don't need the doors. It has a 9" rear. Will that fit? He is asking $300.
5 miles from the 62' I found a 64 custom cab. The bed is in sad shape. But the cab and interior is all good.
LAST EDITED ON 14-Feb-01 AT 08:31 PM (EST)[p]The 64 will be a MUCH better doner candidate for your 66 than the 62 will be. I could be wrong, but don't the 62 front bumpers mount with 6 bolts and the 66 with 4 bolts?? If so, they will not interchange and look right 66 bumpers are available, front and chrome rear, as reproduction units. They interchange with many newer ford trucks, at least up thru '72...
Just a bit more info on my truck. My 65 250 is mostly in good to fair shape. 8' flare side. The bed, rear fenders, tail gate are all in good shape. Front half is in fair shape. Main concerns are fenders (rust on bottom and front top). Interior is fair to good. You can see it in picture gallery 65'. Runs great. I would like to make ready for paint by fall.
you got a nice lookin truck there. the 62 grill will fit but is not correct for the year. also if you use the 62 grill you will need to use the peice above the grill from the 62 or you will have 4 parking lights if you still use the one from the 65. the following will interchange from 62 and 65: fenders, hood(except 64 and earlier have holes drilled for emblems on the side), doors, interior peices(except floor mat), peice below grill, glass, door handles, and stepside beds. evrything would FIT exept if you put the 62 cab on the 65 frame.
