I just picked up a beater truck to drive back and forth to work in, I noticed that neither of the drivers side tail light/brake light work. Are they on a seperate ground system than the pass. side rear tail lights? They work fine. I replaced the bulbs and still nothing. I checked underneith for a seperate ground didnt see much. Anyone had this problem or know the cure??
The ground location is behind the lens assembly if I recall. The ground is common to both sides via the harness on the newer models but I'm not sure about the 80's vintage.
Check for power at the light with a test light. Then you can see if it is the ground or power. I'm pretty sure the power wire to the pass. side splits before the bulb connection.
