Instrument cluster
Hi guys, I have a 96 Ranger 2WD 3.0, the temp, oil pressure, and voltage guages are all over the place. temp gage tops out, oil pressure guage goes real high, voltage gage goes real low. had the alt and batt checked (ok). truck runs just fine. fuel gage and speedo are fine. any ideas?

Possibly an intrument voltage regular, if these newer trucks have one.
Sounds like it may be a ground problem of some sort. Maybe the wiring harnesses are loose behind the intrument cluster?

Unplug the middle harness connector from the instrument cluster (there are 3 back there) and you should find that ground wire at Pin #2.
There is no instrument cluster voltage regulator on the '96.
