My clutch pedal is noisy.The noise comes from the spring.I have tried all types of lubricants including WD-40.It stops for awhile but comes back.Has anyone had this problem,and yes I want to keep it 3 on the tree like Henry built it! Thanks,Russell(1966 352 Custom Cab)

I suspect your missing the plastic/nylon insulators that are designed to go on each end of the pedal assembly where the spring attaches. It is quite common for these to be missing after they break. The easiest way to remove and attach the spring for replacement of these items is to remove the whole pedal assembly. Once out you simply rotate the clutch pedal backwards. This loosens the large spring for one hand removal (no kidding). You simply replace the insulators, reattach the spring and clock the pedal back around. Don't waste your time trying to replace these with the pedal installed. The spring is quite dangerous under that load and, even assuming you can get the spring out, the insulators will keep busting as you try to replace them. Don't ask. :-)
