any Laserdisc owners out there? I see these old players pretty cheep on Ebay. any comments on them?? I would like to listen to some of the concerts that are not on DVD.
wow...Its been a while since I heard anyone mention LD....
A friend of mine recently swapped one out of his "conversion-F150". The few times I watched anything... the quality was fair for what it was (and how old everything was) Better than VHS... !!! of course..
If its cheap enough I'd say why not... as along the LDs you find are in pretty good condition, it should make for some "interesting" entertainment in the living room....
Laserdiscs can look and sound very good. Sound quality can be better than DVD since it is uncompressed CD quality. And, although video resolution isn't as good as DVD, laserdiscs don't suffer from the compression problems that are visible in some DVDs (and on a lot of satellite TV).
I've never considered mounting one in my van, though, although it would be a pimptastic 80's thing to do.
With that declicker, I wonder what it would sound like if you had an LP of Rice Crispies sounds.
wow I did not know that exist, Thanks! I did purchase a used Laserdisc play off Ebay, now to find some discs, I see alot of good concerts out there that are not on DVD
