So today im driving around and im pulling in to a store parking lot and the truck is just idleing along and it just quits!!( no check engine light) but it starts back up just fine.... later in the day it tried to quit again but didnt quite get there it just like stumbled.... is this a sign if a CPS going out or what else should i be looking for, im going to check the injector harness make sure its not grounded out or anything and i guess order me up a CPS or two from that guy on ebay unless anyone has another idea of what it might be
Mine did that with a new cps but was cold. I finally ruled it to be too cool and the backpressure sensor was giving me problems. I have no idea how or why the cpu and the backpressure for the cold weather butterfly are linked but I just unplugged mine and no problems. Its kinda weird at that aspect. Here is another possibility that the low pressure oil pump is losing its prime. Watch how long it takes for your oil pressure to come up on cold start or warm. My new pump takes about onethousandone and its up. Hope we can help troubleshoot, not many places do that anymore.
Kennedyford if you want to disable the backpressure system, simply unplug the temperature sensor that is on the air filter housing.
Badluck those are classic symptoms of a failing CPS if the stalling is similar to GO/NO GO. If it has a sensation of "tapering" off then it's something else.
Well sounds like my CPS is on its way out the door then.... guess i need to get a new one and a back up, just hope it makes it the 5 hour drive tomorrow, lol its been doing some wierd stuff and its been happening more often now so im pretty sure thats it.... anyway thanks for the help guys
